Symposium Entry Formats

Students may participate in the Research Symposium and Exposition by submitting one of the following entry formats:

  • Visual/Poster Presentation: Dedicated to display all possible kinds of information, pictures and graphics, artistic pictures or photographs, architectural or design models, or other types of display. Maximum poster size is 3' tall x 4' wide.
    Note: A maximum of 100 posters will be accepted for the symposium.
  • Performance/Speech/Verbal Presentation: This entry method is intended for sharing music, poetry, literature, history, theatre or other scholarly pursuits that can be best presented this way. In addition, under this format a person can use PowerPoint slides or overheads to present their work (research or other scholarly pursuits) from the categories listed below.

Note: A maximum of 20 presentations will be accepted. Verbal/ speech/ performance presentations are limited to a total of 15 minutes including questions.

Entry categories for 2007

-- Advanced Undergraduate
-- Arts, Architecture and Urban Studies
-- Agricultural and Animal Sciences
-- Natural and Earth Sciences
-- Chemical and Biological Sciences
-- Physical Sciences
-- Engineering
-- Social Sciences and Humanities

There will be three awards given under each category for poster presentation/visual research.

This year there will be separate awards for performance/speech/verbal presentation (a total of three awards) and will not be combined poster/visual presentation. Abstracts for performance/speech/verbal presentation will be accepted from any of the 8 categories listed above.
