GSA Sponsored Programs

The Graduate Student Assembly of Virginia Tech represents the interests of graduate students in all University activities.  The GSA serves graduate students by facilitating the exchange of information and ideas between graduate students and the university governance structure.  The GSA works within the university to improve graduate student life through academic and social programming.

In recent years the GSA has worked with the university in improving academic issues such as access to statistical consulting and improved library resources.  The GSA has also worked to improve student life issues such as comprehensive healthcare, fees, graduate stipends, affordable childcare, and family housing and fair athletic ticket allocations.

The GSA also implements programs such as the Travel Fund (TFP) and Graduate Research and Development (GRDP) programs that provide money for graduate students to travel to conference and conduct research.  The annual Research Symposium also allows graduate student a chance to present their research on campus and a chance at winning cash prizes.
